The coaching programme for junior girls is open to girls aged 8 – 18 years (although a lower age may be considered), who have been recommended by a golf professional or suitably qualified person and who either live in Worcestershire or Herefordshire or is a member of a club in these counties.
The programme is co-ordinated by the Junior Committee of Worcestershire & Herefordshire Ladies County Golf Association (WHLCGA), and administered by the Worcestershire & Herefordshire Golf Consortium, with funding from England Golf.
Our aim is to provide regular quality coaching to help girls improve and keep playing golf. We provide group lessons, giving girls the opportunity to meet with others of their own age and ability.
There are currently 3 coaching centres in our two counties, with ladies from the Junior Committee as managers:-
|Name of coaching centre||Professional||Manager|
|GAUDET LUCE GOLF CLUB||Russell Adams||
Jenny Hartley, with
Jan Ward & Anne Solloway
|BROMSGROVE GOLF CENTRE||Rob Laing||
Ros Jones, with Anne
|BURGHILL VALLEY GOLF CLUB||Andy Cameron||Helen Lane|
All managers are PGA qualified to Level 1, which enables them to assist with the coaching, are DBS checked and have attended a Safeguarding & Protecting Children course with UK Coaching.
We aim to give 21 hours coaching, delivered between 1st October and 31st March, in 7 x 3 hour sessions. The cost is £80 per junior, paid to W&H Golf Consortium. In the event of cancelled sessions, due to poor weather, alternative dates will be given. The coaching dates for each CDC will be given at the start of the programme.
If you know of a girl who is interested in joining, please contact any member of the Junior Committee of WHLCGA.
